"Winter hike. by Lawrie
On Saturday 23rd January 2016 I went on a winter hike discovery with Mummy and the cubs. It was a very very long walk indeed. We started the walk at the cubs scout hut in the morning. We walked by the river and walked over the bridge that I discovered on the way to Richmond. While I walked over a river bridge I discovered an old harbour and over the wooden bridge I also discovered mist and fog in the park. Akela gave me a nice compass and I turned it to find out which direction to go to Ham. We needed to walk SE. we climbed a very very steep incline hill and at the top we had a nice rest and enjoyed the view. We went into Richmond Park and now we sat on some tree logs and had our picnic. Then there was trouble! A dog took Jacks sandwiches away and now he ate them all. 1st We were squelching in the slippery mud and then I slipped in the slippery mud. Me and the other cubs climbed ^ a very very very steep incline hill and Mummy was waiting at the bottom of the very very very steep incline hill with Akela and Bagheera and Hathi. Meanwhile all of the cubs had a running as fast as you can go and slipping v the very very very steep incline hill race and after that I went to look at a map on a bored. And then I discovered a horse and a broken car with the engine that ran out of petrol fuel. And then we walked home but when we got to the harbour I discovered the path was flooded. I walked through the flooded river water and my boots, my socks and my feet got wet. We got back to cubs scout hut and we had walked for 9 miles in total and it was the furthest walk that I had done and now I felt very very very tired indeed. I enjoyed the walk and I wonder where and which month next cubs hike will be?
