A rather apt trip considering the weather – the Cubs visited the Teddington Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) Life Boat station on February 12th as part of their Promise Challenge badge; to find out about someone who has ‘done their best’.
Tim and Jon, our welcoming hosts, gave us an evening introduction to the charity and its local work on the Thames. The Cubs got a full tour of the station and the lifeboat; we even had the chance to get dressed up!
They were so impressed with the behaviour and interest of the Cubs that we have been invited back for a summer event they hold.
If the Cubs manage to get dressed for school in 90 seconds before they turn 18 I think the RNLI may have found a few more willing recruits!
